SANDWICH STRUCTURES

A sandwich structure is an element consisting of several different materials. Its thickness and measurement can be freely determined. Elements are manufactured by glueing materials together. These materials can be straight or curved and their surface can be finished if required.

The surface layers of sandwich material are generally made of strong and durable thin sheets. The surface material can be for example plastic, metal, wood or laminate.

The inner layers consist of light-weight, porous filling materials. In addition, the necessary extra parts, fasteners, HVAC/R installations etc. can be integrated within the element as needed.

The basic idea of the sandwich structure is to form an optimal structure in every possible way. It is possible to create thousands of different combinations, which is not possible with any other material.

Pictures show different kinds of sandwich structures; the necessary core materials can vary according to different standard requirements. One of the most durable materials is aluminium foam.
